UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

Introduction to K9 Scent Work & Odour

Kickstart your training journey with our combined Intro to K9 Scent Work® / Intro to Odour workshops! These sessions focus on the essential element of scent work — building your dog’s “hunt” drive” through engaging scent puzzles. A strong hunt drive lays the foundation for confident, independent searching and long-term success in detection work. During these workshops, we will introduce the core components of scent work, including (i) Discovering scent in containers. (ii) Searching for interior hides and (iii)Working through exterior hides. Dogs will also be exposed to a variety of target odours such as wintergreen, pine, anise, clove, and thyme, helping them begin to differentiate and respond to specific scents. We will work with each dog at the level they are currently at. Whether your dog is brand new to scent work or has had previous exposure, exercises will be adjusted to ensure they are challenged appropriately and set up for success. We recommend taking all three workshops for the most comprehensive experience. However, we understand you may only be able to attend one or two. Either way, these workshops will help you build a solid foundation and set you up for success in our future scent classes!
