This fast-paced, engaging 3-day course for both professional dog walkers and those interested in a career switch to dog walking delivers the most comprehensive education available to today’s modern dog walker. You’ll study canine learning theory, body language, aggression, and basic training. You’ll learn why dogs make the choices they do—and how you can influence those decisions to get the behaviour you want. Good As Gold owner Barbara Walmer is Calgary’s most respected dog trainer. Known by many through her 16 years as Department Head of Behaviour for the Calgary Humane Society, Barb now commits 100% of her time to improving the lives of Calgary’s dogs through community education, dog training classes, and private training programs focused on proactive puppy raising and addressing serious canine behaviour issues.
Barbara is a sought-after and experienced public speaker, having taken the stage at multiple seminars and workshops across Canada, including speaking on shelter behaviour throughout the country in conjunction with Petlynx, talks on behaviour at the Saskatchewan Animal Welfare Conference and CAPPDT conference, behaviour in the shelter environment at the OPSCA Conference, and dog park design and behaviour for the Urban Animal Summit.
