Learn how to read and analyze agility course maps, plan efficient lines for YOUR dog, develop handling strategies for different challenges and evaluate risk vs. reward in course decisions.
Skills Sequencing
Ready to strengthen your bond with your dog and sharpen your agility game? Whether you're working towards your first competition or looking to improve flow and focus on the course, this hands-on workshop is designed to help you and your dog become a more confident, connected team. Work on core agility sequencing skills, using jumps and tunnels, to develop smooth and efficient runs. Improve your handling, timing, and communication all while building your dog’s focus, speed, and confidence.
Snooker Strategies for Success
Snooker—you either love it or you hate it! Either way, this workshop is a great opportunity to learn fun strategies that will build your confidence in this exciting game. Both AAC and UKI rules will be covered. Participants will have the chance to run a couple of Snooker courses using a variety of equipment. Dogs must have 6 weave poles and contacts to participate in this workshop.
Teeter Foundations to Finish
AKA from Wobble to Wow! This workshop will cover the various steps involved in developing your dog’s teeter performance, from foundations through to polishing and proofing. It is suitable for dogs that are just beginning their teeter training, as well as teams looking to build confidence, add proofing, or refine performance.
Young Dog Foundations
Starting your dog’s agility journey? This Foundations Workshop is the perfect first step for building focus, body awareness, and teamwork in young or green dogs — the essential skills before ever stepping into full courses. Develop your obstacle confidence and handling cues, increase your engagement and begin establishing your start-line routines, and work on sequences utilizing jumps and tunnels!
CKC Competition Obedience Fun Match
We will run your dog through a Novice, Open or Utility round or you can practice in the ring for 7 minutes.
CKC Rally Obedience Fun Match
You can run your dog through a set course twice; each time must be at the same level. Each run will be limited to a maximum of 3.5 minutes.
CKC Agility - Fun Match
Come run your dog on a Novice, Intermediate or Excellent/Master STANDARD course. This gives you the opportunity to reward your dog for success in the ring, increase your team’s confidence with equipment and trial environments. You will get to complete two, 90 second runs at your selected level.
Two to three days prior to the match, you will be sent an email requesting your team’s level and jump height. A schedule will be sent out the evening prior to the match.
Fancy Jumps Workshop
This workshop will focus on the specialty or "fancy" jumps commonly used across all agility organizations—Wall Jumps, Long (Broad) Jump, Tire, Panel Jump, as well as Double and Triple Jumps. These obstacles are frequently used as equipment challenges. We'll work on building confidence with each, using handling strategies ranging from novice to international-level techniques. This workshop is suitable for all teams who have a solid understanding of jumps and tunnels.
Leads Outs and Layering
This workshop will focus on skills needed for a variety of popular lead-outs, including lateral lead-outs, being ahead of the dog, being behind the dog, and working with layered obstacles off the start line. Layered sequences of obstacles will also be covered. The main focus of this workshop is forward focus. Tunnels and jumps will be used throughout the session. Dogs must have good obstacle independence on jumps and tunnels in order to participate.
